Brad Parkes has been hunting gamebirds since the early 1970’s and in this, his second major hunting book, brings the experiences learnt over the past twenty years specifically to the attention of the new gamebird hunter.

Brad has hunted gamebirds throughout most of the country and over the past eight years has developed a particular fondness for hunting pheasant and quail.  He is currently a NZ Clay Target Association ‘A’ Grade Sporting Bird shooter and has had numerous wins in NZCTA and NZ Small Game Shooters Sporting Association shooting competitions.

Brad is the country’s leading carver of decorative gamebird decoys, trading under the name of ‘Pukeko Industries’.

Executive Officer to the NZ Fish & Game Council, Brad resides in Wellington with him wife Jane and Labrador gundogs but is unlikely to be found at home during weekends from May to August.
